Notice to Bidders and Newspaper Advertisement
The State University of New York at Albany (Uptown Campus) will receive sealed bids for project number P-1344 titled Liberty Domestic Water Upgrades until 2:00pm local time on Thursday, December 19th, 2024, at University at Albany, Service Building “A”, 1400 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12222 Room 103, where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Work covered under this contract includes but is not limited to the removal of 2 gas fired Lochinvar condensing hot water boilers and replace with new domestic water heat pumps and storage tanks connected to the buildings existing geothermal well field. Controls and monitoring required to report back to existing Siemens BMS system, Bac Net compatible. In addition, any work as further described in the General Requirements, Description of Work.
All work for this Project must be Fully Complete no later than Fri, August 1st, 2025. Project must be started 5 calendar days after the contract approval date of the Office of the State Comptroller.

A pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled for Monday December 9th, 2024, at 11:00am, with interested parties meeting at the Uptown Campus, Service Building A, Room 103 to preview the bid set, and then commence on a tour of the Performing Arts Center (PAC). This is not mandatory but it is highly recommended that anyone truly interested in this job attends a site visit.

Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid.
All work shall be in accordance with construction drawings and specifications. Contractor must be able to secure a performance bond for the full amount of their bid and should be prepared to anticipate a value in excess of $ 700,000.00 for this project. Please note that this project is exempt from the Wicks Law.
It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy.
